Calculation assumptions: Estimates use equal principal-and-interest repayments, with the annual rate divided by 12, 26 or 52 for the selected frequency. Each frequency is calculated independently over the same term, rather than halving or quartering the monthly repayment. Interest is modelled per repayment period, not daily. Fees, offset accounts, redraw, extra repayments and rate changes are excluded. Calculations use unrounded repayments internally; displayed figures are rounded. Actual lender results may differ.

Understand your repayment estimate

Your repayment depends on the amount borrowed, interest rate and loan term. Try a higher interest rate to explore how a rate increase could affect your budget.

A longer term generally lowers regular repayments but increases total interest under the same rate assumptions. A shorter term generally requires higher repayments while reducing total interest.

This calculator provides estimates, not a borrowing assessment or loan approval. Consider your other expenses, financial commitments and a buffer for unexpected costs.

Repayment calculator FAQs

Does this include loan fees?

No. Establishment fees, ongoing charges and other costs are excluded. Include these separately when comparing actual loan offers.

Does paying fortnightly automatically pay off my loan faster?

It depends on how repayments are set. This calculator calculates an amortising repayment for each frequency over the same term. Paying half a monthly repayment every fortnight is a different approach and can result in paying more over a year.

Can I calculate an interest-only loan?

This calculator models principal-and-interest repayments only. Speak with our team to discuss interest-only structures and their implications.

Why might my lender show a different repayment?

Lenders may calculate interest daily and use different payment schedules, rounding or product rules. Your lender’s loan documents set out the actual repayment terms.
